Happy New Year, Whatever…

Welcome 2024! As they say, out with the old and in with the new. Except last year wasn’t all bad and here are 23 reasons why it was not. Whatever. . .Happy New Year everyone!

I always love the freshness of going into a new year. A newly-organized office is divine—in fact, my husband has been home and we (he) did major attic/closet/basement clean outs. He’s a dream. I feel like a new woman. Our children someday will love us.

Each January I also revel in my new “Word of the Year.” Have you picked one? By February I tend to forget what I’ve chosen so I prod myself with sticky notes, art, whatever. Focus girl, focus. This year, the team at Hope Lake Country encouraged us to also choose a Bible verse. Here are their ideas—I love how they motivate living our faith and feeling God within us.

So today, along with my immaculate office (sort of), I go into the new year with Philippians 4:8 and the word “whatever.”


Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
