This week I had a meeting with a print company sales rep. Since I’ve got a greener-than-normal brain lately, I asked what sustainable options they offer. Recycled paper? Soy ink?
They offer both. But he also made an interesting comment. He said, in a sense, all paper today is recycled.
I realized I don’t know enough about this fibrous stuff. Here are some sites to check out (although there are no guarantees to their objectiveness, based on the source):
- Environmental Chemistry defines recycled paper and some recycling terminology
- The non-profit Forest Stewardship Council provides a list of products and printers that promote a responsible management of forests
- Fresh Press put together a vimeo on their agri-fiber making and design studio
- Here, here and here are some books I want to read
