Are online images free? This legitimate question came up recently. The answer is, no, most of them are not.
But here are sources for some images that truly (and legally) are FREE! (Just be sure to provide attribution and link back to the source.)
- Dreamstime: Large selection of images for free and purchase.
- FreeFoto: Over 100,000 free photos you can use on your blog. Most photos have a small watermark in the lower righthand corner of the photo.
- Flickr: Search the creative commons license for free photos.
- Stock Xchange: Different photos have different restrictions, so be sure to check the copyright and attribution requirements. Also has pictures for purchase.
